How do I establish a relationship with God?

We can have a relationship with God after we remove the sin barrier between us and God by believing what Jesus did for us and asking for forgiveness. This requires a genuine acceptance of what God did for us and a desire to obey God (change our heart).

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” – Romans 3:23 NLT

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)

“For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for He himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” (Romans 3:25–26 NLT)

To remove the sin barrier between yourself and God, you can pray the following prayer (or something similar): “Dear God, I’m sorry for my sin. Please forgive me. I believe Jesus paid the consequence for my sin. Please come into my heart and guide me forever.”

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NKJV)

“Through faith in Jesus we have received God’s grace. In that grace we stand. We are full of joy because we expect to share in God’s glory.” (Romans 5:2 NIrV)

What is the inspiration for the book, “Is God Real? Prove It! A Child’s Defense”?

On the playground, a classmate confronted my daughter because she was a Christian. She asked, “How do you know God is real?”

Stumped for words, my daughter said, “It’s a feeling in my heart.”

That afternoon, my daughter asked me the same question.

I paused to recover from the shock of being asked this from a child. “Wow, that’s a fantastic question, honey.” Unprepared, I answered, “I know God is real because I can feel His love.” After I and many others struggled to answer this question, God led me to write this book to help children provide a convincing response. I pray this book increases your confidence in defending your faith in God and helps everyone who struggles with questions about God.
